I´m still a learner, but let me try - I think it can mean something like this:

The one who leaves doesn´t leave, in fact he is left (left alone / abandoned).

(but, of course, it will be better to wait for someone better in Turkish language / and probably in English too )

My attempt at this play on words:

Aslýnda terk eden deðil, terk edilendir terk eden

Actually, it is not the one leaving, it is the one who causes them to leave that is the one left. Roll eyes

My attempt at this play on words:

Aslýnda terk eden deðil, terk edilendir terk eden

Actually, it is not the one leaving, it is the one who causes them to leave that is the one left. Roll eyes

I am a learner and a bit confused at this translation.

(1) ´Eden´ is a present participle which denotes the subject. So ´Seven adam´  > the man who is loving.

(2) ´Edenlendir´ the object of the action.

Hence to me the translation seems to be:-

"Actually it is not the person who is abandoning, [but] the person who is left in a state of abandonment that is abandoning"

Please can someone comment?????????????????????

The original of this sentence is:

Aslýnda giden deðil, kalandýr terkeden --> Actually the one who left is not the one who went, he/she is the one who remained.

Should the end word ´terkeden´ not be ... ´terk-edilen-di´ ??????????????

So, > It is not the one going, [rather] the one left, [that] is in the state of  abandonment <

Thanks folks ......... this site is living up to its reputation.

Where has Melek07 disappeared to while I was away .... Angel! Are you there?
