Here is a poem i wrote when i was 12 or 13.. its not that good and after i have learnt turkish, finished school and college and got my TESOL diploma i may consider re-drafting it hehe
enjoy...

War, what’s it good for?
Thousands of people die maybe more,
Innocent people die for things they haven’t done,
Hot and fiery war’s like the sun,
Frightened children lose their lives,
As the threatening missile dives,
Screams and cries pierce the air,
Fierce and ferocious war is a bear,
Soldiers close in intruding the surrounding,
The victim’s hearts are ferociously pounding,
Future happiness which can never be,
Rough and strong war’s like the sea,
All this fighting just for power,
People’s lives have now turned sour,
Pain and torture has reached the highest level,
Cunning and evil… WAR is the DEVIL…

yeah sure.. i can see your point although i believe that there are other ways to solve these kind of problems..
i dont agree with innocent people (especiially children) who have their livs taken because of a government "disagreement".. they should find a way to sort it out with one another..
in lighter terms, if you and me had an argument, would it be fair for me to come and kill a member of your family...??

I am a little shy about this because I never posted any poetry before. Here is a poem I wrote some time ago and the only person who ever saw it before was me.
BUT
I am inspired by everyone, so here goes....

Your Eyes

Brown like dark chocolate, smile lines like cracks in the road, like the rays of the sun radiating around the corners. You speak only of pain in your life, but those lines tell a different story. They belong to someone who readily smiles a thousand times a day. Someone who laughs a lot and when you do, the laugh reaches yours eyes making scars of joy.

Deep like the sea, swirling with passion and love and life. Your mood showing so clearly. Perplexed, angry, hungry for happiness and something else I could never identify that would shift across the mirrors of your soul like a dark snake slithering into hiding.

Bright like the sun, lighting up with a thousand watts of energy when your soul was singing, glistening like rain on the road when your tears came, suddenly at some half forgotten memory. Dampening your lashes and falling quietly down your soft cheeks.

Closed when you slept. But did you know that sometimes they would be half open? I would watch you sleep, just before I called you for breakfast. I would see them flickering back and forth as you dreamed. What joys and sorrows, losses and desires filled your dreams my love? Did you ever see my face in your dreams?

Opening in the morning, to see me when I called you and smiling so sweetly just for me alone as you woke.

Congratulations Lyndie, sincerely, and if the words are coming from one's heart they sounds always nice.
