What would be the correct translation of the following sentence:

Fýrtýna balýkçýlarýn iþini zorlaþtýrýyor.

I wanted to translate this as: "The storm is making the work of fishermen difficult.", however in www.tureng.com I saw that "iþini zorlaþtýrmak" means "to inconvenience".

So would a better translation be: "The storm is inconveniencing the fishermen."?

If so, if I wanted to express the meaning from my first attempt, would I need to use "çalýþma" for work? For example: "Fýrtýna balýkçýlarýn çalýþmasýný zorlaþtýrýyor."

I might be splitting hairs here, I just want to make sure I understand what the sentence means correctly.

as far as I know, birinin iþini zorlaþtýrmak is just making (it) harder for someone... "it" being whatever that person is doing at the moment..

So if I´m talking about work specifically, would it be better to use "çalýþma", like for example if I´m complaining about my boss and want to say he´s making my work difficult (Þefim benim çalýþmamý zorlaþtýrýyor.) or do you think "iþimi" would still be used in that context?

"Calisma" and "is" are sometimes similar but not necessarily equally interchangeable.

Your boss can make your "calisma" hard by putting you in a very small and poorly lighted room; he can simultaneously make your "is" very easy by assigning you to simpler tasks.

My working conditions are awful (in this case I would use calisma?) and..

My job is very easy (in this case I would use is?)
