Daha sonra anne babasý boþandýðý için kendisinden 3 yaþ küçük erkek kardeþi Alex ile annesinin yanýna Oxford´a taþýnmýþtýr.

My try is:

Later, because of her mother and father getting divorced, she and her 3 years younger brother moved to be with her mother in Oxford.

I have a question about:

anne babasý boþandýðý için

Does it mean:

- because of mother divorcing her father

- because of mother and her father getting divorced

- because of her mother and her father getting divorced (if so, why not "annesi ve babasi"?)

Would "because of her mother getting a divorce from her father" be: "annesi babasýndan boþandýðý için"?

Also, is this: "kendisinden 3 yaþ küçük erkek kardeþi" the most common way to say: "her brother that´s 3 years younger than her"? If I wanted to say that I have a sister that´s 2 years older than me, would I say: "Kendimden iki yaþ büyük kýz kardeþim var."?

Thank you for any explanations/corrections.

Daha sonra anne babasý boþandýðý için kendisinden 3 yaþ küçük erkek kardeþi Alex ile annesinin yanýna Oxford´a taþýnmýþtýr.

My try is:

Later, because of her mother and father getting divorced, she and her 3 years younger brother moved to be with her mother in Oxford.

can be considered CORRECT

But I would translate as:

Later, since her parents divorced, she and her 3 years younger brother Alex moved to Oxford to their mother´s home.

("home" is not mentioned but "birinin yanýna taþýnmak" is to move to the house that person lives.)

I have a question about:

anne babasý boþandýðý için

it is written "anne babasý" because "anne-baba" is used for "parents". It would mean the same if it was "annesi ve babasý", meaning "her mother and her father"

I guess this means that the mother was the one that wanted to get divorsed, if so, YES.

Also, is this: "kendisinden 3 yaþ küçük erkek kardeþi" the most common way to say: "her brother that´s 3 years younger than her"?YES If I wanted to say that I have a sister that´s 2 years older than me, would I say: "Kendimden iki yaþ büyük kýz kardeþim var."? YES but you don´t need to use "kendi" for yourself, you could simply say "benden iki yaþ büyük kýz kardeþim var" or "benden iki yaþ büyük ablam var", when you are talking about the others you should use "kendi" like "he had a brother 3 years older than him- kendinden 3 yaþ büyük bi abisi var"

Thank you for any explanations/corrections.

You are welcome
