What is the difference between "öpmek" and "öpüþmek"?

When are the different verbs used?

I think the difference is as follows:

"öpmek" means to kiss
"öpüþmek" means to kiss each other (possessive verb may be?)

That´s my understanding, as a beginner in learning Turkish, it might be wrong. Wait for more advanced speakers or native to explain the difference more clearly.

As for their use, I would not know when one is to used versus the other, but looking forward to learn.

But there is difference at the verb sevmek = to love. Seviþmek doesnt mean to love each other.

lol, yep that´s true, lots of people go for ´seviþmek´ without any ´sevmek´ involved

yes it does. seviþmek means to love each other. we use it wrong. "çok seviþiyoruz" means we love each other much. if you look at old turksh films u will see that they use "seviþmek" in the mean of love.

Agree.  But it is "reflexive" not "possessive"... the action is reflected between the two people.

e.g.

Görüþmek: to meet (see each other)

bakýþmak: to look at each other etc.
