Selamlar!

Every time i watch a film and match the turkish subtitles i find on the net i realise i can´t read them well so my laptop´s keyboard doesn´t have the turkish characters.  So, that´s my question:

Does anyone knows if there is an aplication or something to make that work properly?

Çok tesekürler!!

if you are using op-sys win XP go to control panel - regional and language options - advanced - find turkish language, mark it, then click few times OK button, then restart the system, and your pc will recognize turkish letters in all programs that are using turkish (non-unicode programs such as MTU (sözlük) will be able to display their native language).  maybe that will help you with movies, too.

If you are using subtitle programs like directvobsub, divxg400 or similar to match with "srt" or "sub" files, just click on the program, click on text settings and select Turkish from fonts.  Thats all, the you can see the Turkish subtitle with Turkish characters

Hey, thanks to both of you but i´ll try to do what yakamozz says so i´ve checked the two programs i used to watch films (Media Player Classic and BS player) and it seems they don´t work.  With MPC i haven´t been able to change the language, i can see how; and with BS player i´ve done it but the characters doesn´t change, still the same. So i´ll try to change the language in the computer like yakamozzz sugested...

Teþekürler!

Hi everyone!

I finnally learned how to read properly the turkish subtitles. Don´t know if there is an easier way to do it but i´m very happy i found a way and now i have no problem to do it. This is how i do it:

I open the file using "swriter" (that´s because i use openoffice a free software) and ust before it opens a message comes (fiter options ASCII) and in it, it offers you to change the language and the characters.

After that i copy the text wich now has the turkish characters and i paste it in a new document from "notepad" and when i save it i change the format to "unicode".

Bu kadar!!

I hope it helps.
