I am uncertain how to translate the following English into ´acceptable´ Turkish.  I shall be grateful to somebody who is either knowledgeable ... or better still .... a native speaker.  I have managed to do it but I am not happy at all.

1.  The girl, about whom they told us many bad things, is a very good nurse.

Bize hakkýnda çok kötü þeyler söylenen kýz / Bize hakkýnda çok kötü þey söyledikleri kýz, çok iyi bir hemþire.

2.  The country, about which he wrote many articles, is Africa.

Afrika hakkýnda çok makále yazdý

Hakkýnda çok makále yazdýðý ülke Afrika´da (bir ülke)

(sorry but i think u mean is IN Africa)

3.  The war, about which many books are written, lasted for 20 years.

Hakkýnda bir çok kitap yazýlan savaþ yirmi sene/yýl sürdü.

4.  The slave trade, about which many books will be written, evntually ended in the 19th century. 

Üzerine/Hakkýnda bir çok kitap yazýlacak olan köle ticáreti niháyet ondokuzuncu asýrda son buldu

You are quite correct to point out the error in my English, referring to Africa as a country instead of as a continent. 

You have translated everything very well.  I did not wish to propmt you, I also used the word ´Hakkinda´ .... but was not sure where to put it in the sentence.  I have also learned now how to deal with ... ´about which .... will be written´.

I thought ´bir çok´ is written as one word - I have only ever seen it shown as one word in any on-line or paper dictionary I´ve looked at.
