Hi all,

I´m new to this forum, and I would first like to explain my situation.

I lived in Turkey when I was 4 years old til I was 8 years old, at that time I could speak Turkish - I remember and my parents have told me several times how good I was in speaking Turkish.

Before I 9 years old our family had to flee, and we went to Norway - here I learned norwegian, german, english, spanish fluently - but forgot my third-language, Turkish.

Now, 10 years later, I want to re-learn this language. O guzel! Big smile

I will look around this forum, and try on my own - but if I get stuck I need somebody to help me. I´ve many Turkish friends here, and they all speak Turkish perfectly - but the only Turkish words I´ve learned from them are curses, and I´ve teached them the same in Kurdish. None of them are good at teaching, therefore I need one guy from this place.

Regards,

Azad.

Thank you, thank you!

Hola Asadi. Te felicito por tu excito. Eres extremadamente inteligente para haber aprendido tantas lenguas incluyendo el espanol. Se que se te vas a hacer facil recordar el Turco, pues lo aprendiste cuando eras un nino. Hello Asadi. I was amazed by your accomplishments. You have learned so many languages. How you did it? I know two and trying to learn my third one, it´s quite hard. However, I love Turkish, and to me it is very similar to Spanish. So, definitely, I will learn it. Here is some of my Turkisk. Merhaba Asadi nasilsiniz? Sana tebrik ediyorum. Bence, sen cok akilli bir insandir. Bircok diller konusyorsun nasil bunu yaptin? Tekrar sana tebrik ediyorum. Adios. Goodbye. Gulegule. Gunesh.

Hi Azadi,

Welcome! I am impressed by the number of languages you speak! çok iyisin!

I am a beginner learner for Turksih, learning by myself. If you want to learn, I think there was a topic with a link for downloading a pdf of a great book to teach yourself Turkish.The grammar lessons on this forum are excellent, I am learning a lot with them, and you even have the corrections afterwards.

I think Turkish will easily come back to you since you used to speak and understand it fluently. If you live in Europe, you may access to Turkish speaking radios and tv channels, this will be of great help (it´s not available where I live, snif!)

Good luck to you!

So what are your first and seond languages?..........you mention  Turkish as your third language...what are your first one and second languages?  How literate are you in the other languages?....IOW how eloquant can you be...or is it Tarzan style?

My first language, and mother language, is Kurdish (only know these three dialects: Kurmanji, Sorani, Zazaki - were Kurmanji is the one I speak the most) - my second language is Farsi, which I learned from my parents alongside Kurdish - they were both born in East-Kurdistan, also known as Kurdistani-Iran.

The mentioned languages I speak fluently - Alameda, of course there are differences between my Spanish and a native Spanish speaking guy, but I hope you get the point. Except from Kurdish, Farsi, Norwegian and English - I learned the rest from watching TV - ex. the German language I learned completely by watching RTL2, Super RTL, RTL, and all the other free satellite broadcasted german-speaking channels. So, my advise to all small kids - watch foregian language cartoon and anime, very soon you´ll find out the meaning of every word and you´ll be able to put together words and sentences. German anime I watched the first time in Turkey, I still remember Dragon Ball {#emotions_dlg.ty_ty}

Any chance you could teach Kurdish or know of any books/online sources?
