Today it was Remembrance Day in Holland. The flags are out half and there were 2 minutes of silence at 8 o'clock to remember those who died during World War II.
Tomorrow it will be the day of the Liberation. The flags will be out fully and we will also put our Union Jack, as my grandfather was an English soldier.

There aren't many days in Holland that i celebrate with compassion and with a feeling for my country. This is one of the few.

I saw Schindler's List again today with my mother. She said each time she sees a train passing with things 'other than humans', she shivers. I think the fact that it transports things 'other than humans' is exactly why she shivers.

Yes, tomorrow it's the day of the Liberation. Maybe I dó know what nationalistic feelings are, though in many of my posts here I have said i don't. Maybe I do. I don't know. But i will raise the Dutch flag tomorrow.
