If Türk Dil Kurumu cannot find a Turkish equivalent for a European word, it tends to use an Arabic or a Persian word.

operation > ameliyat (medical), faaliyet(of a company)   (rather than operasyon)

dont use penaltı says Türk Dil Kurumu. instead use "cezá atışı"

cezá is not a Turkish word either. However, if we are not sure about which to use, TDK suggests

that we use a Persian or an Arabic word.

operasyon > ameliyat, faaliyet

Let me write its Turkish:

sentır is better according to me, it is more european

Nowadays that we wrestle to join EU and become more european, let´s open a new season and add some contribution

Now this is funny. The Türk Dil Kurumu was actually set up to get rid of the Arabic and Persian influences, and instead, preferred European words if they couldn´t find a ´good´ Turkish equivalent. And now they say the opposite?

And I never heard anyone use ´sentır´. That indeed is a needless foreign loanword. But that a language takes up words from other languages is only natural and shouldn´t be fought against.
