If she is going to use Atatürk Airport, she can find electronic shops in Bakırköy and Yenibosna, which are the closest districts to airport. She can go to Bakırköy and Yenibosna by Aksaray - Havalimanı subway, which´s first stop is Airport ( Havalimanı ). I also heard that there are some electronic shops inside the airport but I have never came across with one of them. And they should be very expensive like the other stuff in airport as well.
thx

Just be careful as well because unless she is buying a Turkish phone as wll, the Turkish sim card she may buy may not work in her phone from home.. Mine did not and I had to buy a phone in turkey when I was living there. It blocked the SIM .
P.S I just guessed she was not planning to buy a phone as it seemed expensive to do for just a week

When i visit turkey, i go into a local supermarket/shop and buy a phone card to use in a pay phone...you can get one for either £5 for 50 credits or £10 for 100 credits...they last quite long too

İs better for her to use roaming till she gets to the place she will stay then she can go to a shop to buy sim.

If she is using "VODAFONE" in her own country, she dont have to use Turkish network provider cause she can talk from here with same vodafone´s prices in her´s country..
If she want to buy Turkish cell phone network she will see "AVEA" store when she exit the foreign arrival´s gate and turn to her right side at the Atatürk Airport.
P.S: Maybe other Network prividers have got a store in the but i havent seen them.
Have fun in Türkiye.

I am a Vodafone user in my country, but anytime when I was in Türkiye I used roaming; a friend of mine hadnt an active roaming and she couldnt used the cell phone. Anyway roaming is so expensive comparative with a local call (0.8 eurocent/ min for roaming and 0.11 eurocent/ min for local call)

But if she cant use the mobile with a turkish sim than is better to use roaming than buying a new phone from Turkey. She is staying only 1 week...

yes, indeed, for a week is ok, cause the price of cell phone is greater than a roaming call
