I would like to say Happy 30th Birthday for last Tuesday to my Turkish teacher, but my dictionary changes from

Doğum Günün Kutlu Olsun! to Geçen Salı günü 30 Happy Birthday!

What is the best way to say this please?

Thanks.

I am not a native speaker.

I would NOT use the second one because it changes from Turkish to english mid sentence.  The first says   "Let the birthday be happy".   The second says "Last Tuesday happy birthday"

I have heard on TRT which is  the National Turkish TV station.  The phrase...."İyiki doğdun sana" and let me understand thıs ıs your Turk language teacher:?  So open with........ Öğretmenim......

We don´t normally say the age while we say happy birthday.. instead we say:

Happy birthday - Doğum günün(üz - for formal) kutlu olsun...

You turned 30... 30 yaşına bastın(ız - for formal)

Or, in an informal way, we say:

İyi ki doğdun (name), mutlu yıllar sana.. (mostly for kids)... and we sing the same with the melody of "happy birthday to you"

İyi ki doğdun (name),

İyi ki doğdun (name),

İyi ki doğdun, İyi ki doğdun,

mutlu yıllar sana
