What does it mean when you use ´that (between this and that)´ or ´those (between these and those)´ ?

Do you mean the difference between the words in Turkish?  ´That´ is singular, ´those´ is plural, same as in English

bu (this) refers to something near

şu (that) to something further away but still fairly close

and o refers to something even more distant.

I read this in the Teach yourself Turkish book and it helped me to understand it clearly so maybe it will help you too

"something held in your hand is definitely bu, a table on the other side of the room is most cetrtainly referred to as şu and a tree on the horizon is certainly o" - extract taken from Teach yourself Turkish

Hope it helps Smile

 haha no I guess you wouldn´t, not unless he´s a teeny tiny person that you could fit in your pocket {#emotions_dlg.lol} so I guess that example doesn´t always fit lol

Just wanted to say aswell that the Teach yourself Turkish book in pdf. file format and all accompanying mp3 files was given to me by a very kind TLC member, and I wanted to say a big thank you to them, it´s been such a big help to me. {#emotions_dlg.flowers}
