Please could any one explain how best to convey the sense of ´Make do´ in Turkish language?

yetinmek /la/ to be content with, be satisfied with.

The nearest I was able to find was ´elde mevcut onlarla idare etmek´ ... but it sounded like a mouthful ......... I was hoping that there would be a similar sozculuk in Turkish ... istead of having to translate word for word.  ´Colloquialisms´ cannot be satisfactorily translated, and translation fails to convey the intended sense.

If I were to opt, I would consider ´Yetinmek´ as being a handy substitute.

you can also say "idare etmek" as well as yetinmek

 "elde mevcut olanlarla idare etmek" is word-for-word translation for "to manage to get along with the means available".

 "idare etmek" is enough to make the same sense as "make do" does in English.

"idare etmek" and "yetinmek" have different meanings.
