İyi ki doğdun ve daha nice mutlu yıllara. (Not word by word but conveys the mneaning)

Doğum günün kutlu olsun also means Happy Birthday.

(I would like to know which is more commonly used by Turks in Turkey-anyone?)

I would say they are used equally.

It´s always good to know what Turkish people use rather than what it says in grammar books and dictionaries.
