Right to refund?

My fiancee (a Turk) bought a laptop in a shop in Bursa roughly 3 times the price of the same laptop in the UK. I convinced her to try and take it back, but the shop told her they would not accept it unless it was faulty.
I´ve tried researching Turkish consumer law, but I can´t find anything. What are her rights?
Do they have a legal 14 day return period or anything similar like we do in the UK? If so than she can instruct the retailer that their company policy doesn´t override the law.
We´re saving for our wedding, so we need to hold on to all the money we can.
Thanks for any help,
Michael.

As far as I know seller is right. They would only accept faulty devices and defective goods ( where the instructions on the box or the user manual or the advertisements misdirect the consumer and consumer thinks that devce will not satisfy him/her).
But you always have the right to go to arbitral commission (Tüketici Sorunları Hakem Heyeti). it is in the governer´s buiding. Whatever they decide the shop or the company must obey it.

Thanks for that
The laptop hasn´t been used and was bought 5 days ago. I don´t know if that makes any difference?
If not, I´m an Advertising Executive, so I´m sure I can find something misleading in their advert
Thanks again,
Michael

maybe it would be wise to just learn how to COMMUNICATE with each other before you get married? couldn´t you 2 just DISCUSS the purchase before buying it? so interesting...

If it´s not faulty you can not return it. Some big stores gives you the right to return it within 1 week or something unless you unpack it but not the case with this store as it sounds.

- maybe Michael´s fiancee was buying it as a surprise present for him, maybe she was buying it for her personal use or for her job in Turkey, maybe she had no idea how much cheaper it would be in the UK, maybe she couldn´t wait to get one from the UK, maybe she doesn´t have to check with him every time she buys something.

look, if you want to save some money for wedding, then why shouldn´t you BOTH do that? that means - BOTH should also agree on purchasing smth that expensive - doesn´t it? and all those questions about she didn´t know in UK is cheaper etc - she would get all that information if she would just TALK to her bf? isn´t it? or - maybe she just doesn´t trust him that much? (before MARRYING him - c´mooon )

3 times the price? There is something wrong here? Many times I have been to UK and I couldn´t see 3 times the price as far as computers concerned. In fact the US was always cheaper compared to the UK.
I never felt like buying a computer in the US or UK. I know it´s a little bit pricy here but still I preferred to buy them here. You have your warranty. You have your PC customised for the local needs (Turkish keyboard, Turkish OS etc.)
