you can say "yazı bitirene kadar" in daily speach meaning spending the summer time. we use it simetimes.

yaz bitene kadar: to the end of the summer time.

yazı bitirene kadar: to the end of someone´s summer time.

because summer is subject and "to end" is the verb. so summer will end.

Yazı bitirene kadar - Until end(finish) the summer

Here summer is object but the subject is hidden.

Yaz sonuna kadar - until the end of the summer

Yaz sonu is a noun phrase, summer´s end - the end of the summer.

They have similar meanings, but structures are a little different.
