In a recent translation (in two different posts) a sentence has been translated like this:

  • I´d like to go to Turkey again.

  • Tekrar Türkiye´ye gitmeyi isterim.
  • Türkiye´ye tekrar gitmek isterim.

When I try to write something in Turkish, in similar sentences I always have doubts which one to take... So can someone explain why both of them are possible? And if there is a difference, point out which?

Thanks in advance

From what I´ve learnt so far the 1st one looks wrong to me, I was taught that when your using istemek that you would use the infinitive form on the verb preceding it, like ´I want to go to Turkey´ = ´Türkiye´ye gitmek isterim´ whereas ´ I love going to Turkey´ - would be translated as ´Türkiye´ye gitmeyi seviyorum´

If I have this wrong can someone please correct for me Smile
