Dolphinarium in Hisaronu

There is an ongoing debate about the opening of a dolphinarium in Hisaronu this summer.  The dolphin pool or pond as it is being described will just be a prison and hell hole for dolphins.  Sadly some visitors will be delighted to see these wonderful creatures imprisoned for their pleasure.

There is a couple of facebook campaigns one in English and the other Turkish which have a petition.  I will post the links later (no access to FB at work).  If you feel strongly about this please go to the links if you can and sign the petition. The groups are keen to keep the pressure up as the latest news is that the license has been granted to move the dolphins to Hisaronu.

In the meantime, here are some of the stories on website forums discussing the dolphinarium.  Most people are against and would rather see these wonderful creatures free to swim in the sea.

I personally hope this venture fails miserably and the dolphins are released from captivity.
