i have a friend that married a turkish man in aug this year, she has only know him for 6 months and visited him for 5 weeks in that time , she is english, she now regrets marrying him and wants to get out of this marriage, is there a easy way for her  to end this  marriage or does she have to wait the 2 years before she can divorce him. any advise would be help full please.

 So sad to hear that. It would depend on where she is....different countries have different processes. Even in places like the USA, each state has different processes and laws.

As far as i know, judges generally wait 1 year for divorcement, but it is not a rule.

Also, i don´t know if there is a special regulation for Turkish-Forrigner marriages.

She does not have to divorce him in the Turkish court system.  If she is English, she can go back home and divorce him.

It is important where she got married. If she got married in Turkey, it might require some heavy paperwork in Turkey, which would be made easier if she perhaps visited Turkey. It is important for her to get legal advice from somebody who is specialized in this. I have heard of people who got a divorce, but found out later that some paper work had been lacking in Turkey, and they were still married in Turkey for all those years. Big whoops! But in any case, if there is a good reason for divorce, there is no time limit. Especially if the reason for divorce involves deception from his side (which is usually the case in these situations).

My daughter got married in Turkey and divorced in Scotland some time ago with little difficulty. Can´t remember the time scale though.

I think it has something to do with how the marriage is registered. But again, the best thing is to get legal advice. I can only speak of certain hear-say cases of Dutch-Turkish divorces.
