I have just seen this word in a book and the translation is full price as in buying tickets. I thought it meant just. Can someone explain please?

These are the different meanings of Tam in the Turkish/ English dictionary of Turkish Class web site. I hope it may help you. Smile

tam
1. whole, full; complete, perfect: tam ekmek a whole loaf of bread. tam maaş full salary. tam iki kilo a full two kilos. tam yetki full authority/full power. tam istihdam full employment. tam üye full member. tam pansiyon full pension/full room and board. tam bir Fransız a Frenchman through and through. tam bir ziyafet a real banquet. tam bir rezalet an out-and-out disgrace.
2. exactly; right; immediately; precisely; just: Orada tam yedi yıl çalıştı. He worked there for exactly seven years. Tam zamanında geldin. You´ve come right on time. Tam karşımda oturuyordu. She was sitting immediately opposite me. Şimdi tam sırası! Now´s just the right time! Tam istediğiniz gibi yaptım. I did it just as you wanted me to.
3. fully, completely: tam teşekküllü bir hastane a fully equipped hospital. Görevini tam yapmanı istiyorum. I want you to carry out your duty to the full.

sonbahar - tam seems to cover alot with just a simple word!
