Merhaba!

Do anyone know about Erzurum? Is the communication in mountain area so bad? I lost contact with my boyfriend over there? Do you know how can I check if he is alright over there? I´m very worry of him, please help !!

Erzurum is a big city, not a little village in the mountains. The connection there should be just fine. The electric may be gone for a few hours, but it´s not like no communication is possible for days.

Don´t worry. Nothing happens. I remember that i couldn´t contact with a village in Kars (a neighbour of Erzurum) almost one week, some years ago. These happen.

BTW, its raining like cats and dogs in Ankara. It didn´t stop even one second from yesterday. It shall be the same in Erzurum. So most probably the electricity has gone there. 

Thank you everyone that replies my message!! I finally got to hear from him. But he said he went to another location which is even more remote, that´s why the mobile do not have any receiption!!

I just heard that Erzurum is one of the very cold city. I know that the winter Olympics will be held there in 2011!! It must help to advance the city a bit!!

??? what winter Olympics is this??? There was one this year in Vancouver and the next one will be 2014 in Russia.  Is there a special Turkish Winter Olympics???

 And here we were thinking the Olympics were held every 4 years Guess we´re wrong

That´s not really an Olympic event, hence the confusion. Olympic isn´t part of the official name, and it has nothing to do with the Olympic commission. It does however have something to do with universities So I guess this won´t bring world wide attention to Erzurum, or improved infrastructure, but there will be a rise in beer-consumption!
