not sure but maybe torba kestaneni can be-  bag of chesnuts  (still does not make much sense mind you )

 Agree. Emphasis is like "we ate a WHOLE bag of chestnuts"

Don´t you rmember the line in the carol "Chestnuts roasting by an open fire"? - they sell bags of hot roasted chestnuts in the street in Turkey this time of year. Yummy!
