It´s easier for me to learn new words if I connect them to memories or experiences. So I developed a brand new habit and usually watch the morning news with a notebook. I thought I´d share some of my findings with stories. If you think it´s useful, I may continue later.
azmetmek = concentrate on something, be dedicated towards something

There was a story of a man on TV today who lost a lot of weight after a stomach reducing operation. For months he could only eat soups, fruit juice and food which had been previously turmixed. Congrats!
en tutumlular = the most economic ones
en lüksler = the most luxurious
There was a car show in Turkey where they showcased the latest versiosn of electronic cars. There was one sold for 600 000 euro, which had been bought before actually crossed the border of the country. Not bad, eh?
domino etkisi = domino effect
A Turkish contestant fell at some bike race, and lots of people was jelaous of the fancy moved he produced, that they did the same. He scored the fifth place at the end.
varile gömmek = bury somebody in a barrel
They found a person who has been missing for around 13 years. He was buried in a barrel. I wouldn´t call that a burial.
netleşmek = to get obvious
There has been guesses about the price of meat (live animals sold in the street actually) in the last couple of days. Kurban Bayramı is coming, so people (who can afford it) have a cow or sheep killed and share the meet with the family and neighbors etc. It´s a tradition. No more guesses, the prices seem to set. Sheep for at most 1000 TL, huge cows for 10 000 TL. Good luck with that.
yan bakmak = a slang expression of stare at somebody (argo)
A guy freaked out in a restaurant in Antalya because he caught somebody staring at his girl. He pulled his gun and fired 14 shots. I didn´t get if anybody was injured.
