I think it means the other person was really selfish thinking only of her/himself.

it´s sarcastic.  ´x´ is saying how their thoughts are the same, i.e. ´x´ thinks about ´y´ and ´y´ thinks about ´y´ as well.  in other words ´y´ is a selfish person.
