I understand that the expression hayırlı olsun  is used when someone moves to a new home, but i want to write something more for two different people that are very special to me. I know it is hard to translate these kind of greetings, but i would be happy if just the essence of it could be kept.

I have these four suggestions

1.

May your home be bright with cheer,

May your cares all disappear,

May contentment come your way,

And may laughter fill your day.

**

2.

Wishing you always—

Walls for the wind

And a roof for the rain

And tea beside the fire—

Laughter to cheer you

And those you love near you—

And all that your heart might desire!

**

3.

May you have warm words

on a cold evening,

A full moon on a dark night,

And the road downhill

all the way to your door.

4.

A house is bricks and wooden beams A home is made of love and dreams

teşekkür ederim

Hi Aleen, the expression "hayırlı olsun" is not only used when someone moves into a new house, its also used when someone buy a brand new stuff like cars, bikes, furnitures anything..Its also used to congratulate someone who has got a new job or promoted in his work or someone who has just married in the form of (tebrik ederim hayırlı olsun) or when someone who has just opened a new shop ( dükkanınız hayırlı olsun) or business. Briefly for the most of good occasion we use the phrase "Hayırlı olsun "

May your home be bright with cheer

Eviniz neşeyle aydınlansın

May your cares all disappear

Bütün sıkıntılarınız kaybolsun

May contentment come your way

Rahatlık gelsin yolunuza

And may laughter fill your day

Gününüz kahkahayla dolsun

Wishing you always

Dilerim ki her zaman

Walls for the wind

Rüzgar için duvarlar

And a roof for the rain

Yağmur için bir çatı

And tea beside the fire

Ve ateşin yanıbaşında çay

Laughter to cheer you

Neşelenmeniz için kahkaha

And those you love near you

Yanıbaşınızda sevdikleriniz,

And all that your heart might desire!

Ve yüreğinizin arzuladığı herşey olsun !

May you have warm words

Sözleriniz sımsıcak olsun

in a cold night.

soğuk bir gecede.

A full moon on a dark night

Karanlık bir gecede dolunay

And the road downhill

Ve yokuş aşağı yolunuz olsun

all the way to your door

ta kapınıza kadar.

A house is bricks and wooden beams A home is made of love and dreams

Tuğlalı ve tahta kirişli bir ev,sevgi ve düşlerden yapılmış bir yuva.
