I am working on a story about sick jealosy that leads into violence. There is a Turkish song that intrigues me and I thought I might find some some new ideas in it. I understand it is a well-known and traditional piece of music.

Beddua

Dilerim tandıran / Gülmesin yüzün / Gönlüne eş olsun / Dert ile hüzün / Huzura ermesin / Benliğin özün / Benden başkasını seversen eğer.

Özleyen arayan / Soran olmasin / Acılar bitmesin / Çilen dolmasın / Gönül yaraların /deva bulmasın / Benden başkasını seversen eğer.

Sevgiden şevkatten / Mahrum kalasın / Eşinden dostundan / Hep ahh alasın / Cennetten kovulan / Tek kul olasin / Benden başkasını seversen eğer.

(There might be something wrong with the spelling. Sorry about that.)

Can anyone tell me something about this song? History, facts, relating stories? Besides, my Turkish is so poor I am not sure about the exact meaning of the words.

It´s beautiful, even upsetting to me. I especially like the way a singer named Gürkan performs it.
