I am Japanese engaged to a half-Turkish/half-German boy.  Lately I found him sending SMS in Turkish to a girl he says he knows as a sister and that he grew up with.  He also bought her iPhone.  He has always been good person and he is open about this girl and talks to her on Skype even when I am around, and also show me his communication with her.  When I try to translate the SMS, he use words like sevgililer and askim.  He explain to me that in Turkish culture, these words can be used for people close to you - he said like endearment terms.  Could someone explain if this is correct and also help me translate these phrases. I only want to know if I should worry.  I am grateful if someone can help.

My turkish language is very small, btu even me understand smth

my husband is turk, and as I know some friend, they would say it´s not converastion of friends. Askim can call really close person, as family or ur love, but not frends. and that he loves and miss crazy also means smth.

I dont want to upset u. but it seems from his words that she is his life, as he wrote in last sentense.

I hope I´m wrong

Definitely wait for a Turk to check, I hope for your sake that she is only like a sister to him. 

Chouwa, I want to say that I don´t like translating this type of texts, but I can sense that  you will not find peace until you know what those words are meaning. Sorry..  Here they are :

I slightly have different view on what you say about translating text like above but isn´t is right to help someone who is trapped in a situation where anyone can be down the line... Its like extending your arm to someone who is trying to reach the shore....Think over it!!!

its true that "sevgilim" "aşkım" can be used for very close people who love each other like siblings. some people even use them regularly. girls use that while talking to each other but sometimes girls-to-guys or guys-to-girls use them without having any kind of intimate bondage. i can imagine cousins or nieces using such language.

but im sorry, no matter what kind of person you are, you dont love them like mad which "deli gibi seviyorum" means. maybe theyre really crazy though, its possible.
