Hollywood has given "The Best Foreign Drama Short Film" award to "My Dad & Spike", a short film by Turkish director Murat Kebir, who has been living in Britain for 20 years.
LONDON- The award was given at the 16th International Family Film Festival. "My Dad & Spike" tells the poignant story of how sometimes it´s the unforeseen changes in life that often matter most.
In a suburban London street, lives 7 year old Ali, his Mum, Dad and fish Spike. All his life, when darkness comes and everyone is asleep, Ali has been comforted by the sound of his Dad´s loud snoring next door. But one day the snoring stops.
Murat Kebir was born in Ankara, Turkey in 1968. After studying electronic, he went to work for Turkish TV Channel TRT as an editor. He moved to London 20 years ago where he first worked as an assistant editor, then became an editor. For past 12 years he has been working as a senior editor at Sky Television where he has been working extensively in sports, promos, arts & movie projects as an Avid / FCP / DS Nitris editor & motion graphic artist. "My Dad & Spike" is his second short film. He also directed 15mins film "An eye for a tooth" in 2005.
