Aylin Yaren to show her talent at World Women´s Football Championship 2011 to be held in Germany
Balancing a football on her face, head and shoulders for minutes at a time, Aylin Yaren left no doubt that she was sure of her talent.
Yaren will attend shows at 50 different locations during the World Women’s Football Championship 2011 to be held in Germany.
“I want to be the best in the world,” said the 21 year old. “As long as I play football, I will prove how successful women can be.”
Yaren has played football for 16 years. Her story began when she and her mother watched her brother play football. “I could say for as long as I’ve known myself, I’ve watched people playing soccer. I’ve played since I was 5 and through school teams my interest has grown,” she said.
Yaren even played for Malmo Damallsvenskan for two years in the Swedish 1st league, but now plays for Hertha Berlin in the second tier of women´s football in Germany.
Two years ago, she started ball aerobics, or doing tricks with the ball in the air for long periods of time.
“I was impressed by videos on the Internet. Since I played football, I said, ‘Why not try this?’ So, I tried and realized it was not much difficult. I trained myself and here I am. My family supports me to the end, as they do in my footballing career,” she said.
She joined a talent show in Turkey to prove to people that women can be successful in football and “keepy-uppy.” “This sport is considered to be for men only and “keepy-uppy” is something only men do to show off. As you see though, this is not true at all,” Yaren said
