Letizia Moratti, the mayor of Milan, was the target of a practical joke this week. A Twitter user, wanting to show that responses from the mayor were automatic, asked the mayor about an illegal mosque on a made-up street in the made-up Sucate district. The mayor´s staff immediately answered that illegal mosques will not be tolerated.
The response quickly circulated on the net and led to an online contest to list the various problems of the Sucate district. One YouTube user posted a clip introducing the neighborhood and the illegal mosque in question.
The response was later removed from the mayor´s Twitter feed.
