What kind of a stereotype might be causing these initial reports?
I´ll say I´m going to wait till the trial is over. But I assure you, her death is not going to be less appalling if she was murdered by a pervert rather than crazy religious fanatics.
Do you really think it was the stereotype that caused the initial reports? Or, perhaps, the evidence suggested it? It´s not a crime to speculate about cause of death. It is wrong to sentence people basing on stereotypes. Ever heard of Occam´s razor?
