"This award is so encouraging because it means our show is resonating with viewers," said Borman. "The staff here work tirelessly to deliver the highest quality television, but we also see our work as getting America to be healthier. It´s a mission we feel in our hearts and souls."
After two highly successful seasons, including the most successful launch in daytime television in eight years in 2009, "The Dr. Oz Show" continues to facilitate our national conversation on health and deliver informative, life-changing tips in a fun and entertaining format. With the conclusion of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" after 25 years, "The Dr. Oz Show" will be moving into former "Oprah" show time slots in 83 markets across the country and move to a news lead-in in 150 markets.
"I have always been so proud of every aspect of our show, and feel so grateful and humbled by this recognition from our peers. Mindy and Amy´s editorial was a bulls-eye and some of the best producers, crews, and team in television took us to the top. Most importantly, we have all learned that even a heart surgeon can be trained to witness feelings and celebrate people where ever they may be in life," said Dr. Mehmet Oz.
The Emmy award for best host was a tie with Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa. Also in the program, Dr. Oz was part of a heartfelt tribute to Oprah Winfrey in which he discussed her impact on television and his own development as a host.
