Three high-ranking tennis players arrived in Istanbul on Monday for the launch party of the WTA year-end tournament.

Third-ranked Vera Zvonareva of Russia, fifth-ranked Victoria Azarenka from Belarus and 15th-ranked Serb Jelena Jankovic participated in the press conference and the party to introduce the WTA Championships, which will be hosted in Istanbul at the end of the season.

“Istanbul is a gorgeous city and everyone is putting so much effort in the tournament,” Zvonareva told broadcaster NTV Spor on Monday. “It will be a good tournament for us, but it will also be good for Turkish tennis.”

Eight top-ranking women’s players will play in the week-long tournament. The games will be played in Istanbul’s Sinan Erdem Dome
