I think you didn't read well or your phrasebook has bad grammar
'Turkiye'lu musunuz' , doesn't exist. Because of the Turkish vowelharmony, such a word is pretty impossible. Let me try to explain
The suffix -li- means 'with' but is also used for habitants of a country. However, the suffix -li- exists in 4 forms:
li
lı
lu
lü
Which suffix is required, depends on the LAST VOWEL of the word it is added to, according to the vowelharmony.
After e/i » li:
şeker: last vowel is an 'e' » şekerli (with sugar)
izmir: last vowel is an 'i' » Izmirli (someone from Izmir)
After a/ı » lı
Amerika: last vowel is an 'a' » Amerikalı (somone from America)
After o/u » lu
Istanbul: last vowel is an 'u' » Istanbullu (someone from Istanbul)
Trabzon: last vowel is an 'o' » Trabzonlu (someone from trabzon)
After ö/ü » lü
gözlük: last vowel is an 'ü' » gözlüklü (with glasses)
Now let's look at the word 'Türkiye'
We see the last vowel of this word is an e
So it needs the suffix 'li':
Türkiyeli. And not Türkiyelu

I'm not native Turkish, I'm just a beginner. But i hope i could explain this to you. Take a look at the 'vowel harmony' in the Grammar section of this website. It's a very important feature of Turkish language and without studying it, you can't learn most of the grammar, as it is based upon those vowel harmony rules
Good luck with learning!

Thanks for spending the time on explaining this. Not sure where i got the "lu" ending from but i noted it down at the time.
I am working on the grammar on the site at the moment. there are no turkish teachers locally so i am on my own and using cds/tapes/online etc
