İnan said they had also wanted to purchase an island in Greece last year but this was impossible at the time.
The chairman of a Turkish real estate firm that intends to purchase islands put on sale by the Greek government said he will found a company in Greece to avert potential problems that may arise during the buy off.
“If Turkish business people like us purchase some 30, 40 or 50 islands from Greece, they would then constitute a significant power base there. In that way, it would also become easier for us to open up to Europe as well. We can represent Turkey on those islands, too. It would be pleasing if other Turkish business people invested here, once we pry the door open,” said Fikret İnan, the board chairman of FiYapı.
İnan said they had also wanted to purchase an island in Greece last year but this was impossible at the time.
“They somehow whetted our appetite then and we started looking for other available islands. We found Garipada Island in İzmir and bought it. Now, Greece has officially put her islands up for sale. Several real estate agents and firms mediate in the sales of these islands. We are negotiating with those firms for the moment. We have shortlisted six islands. I want to buy at least three of them,” he said.

Turks to invest in crisis- hit Greece and Romania
Turkish firms will considerably increase their investments abroad in 2011, according to a top official at Ernst&Young. Eastern European countries, such as Greece and Romania, are the main destinations for these companies’ plans
Turkish companies are showing a great interest in investing in tourism facilities and real estate in the Greek islands.

A number of Turkish companies have set their sights on investing abroad this year, especially in southeastern European countries, according to a top official from one of the four auditing giants in Turkey.
“I foresee Turkish firms investing about $1 billion abroad through transactions between 50 and 200 million dollars,” said Müşfik Cantekinler, the institutional financing department chief of Ernst & Young in a recent interview. Most of the investments will take place in Turkey’s neighboring regions, especially the Balkans, he added.
If certain Turkish firms invest above $200 million, the total foreign investment from Turkey might be even higher by year’s end, he said.
Turkish businesspeople are also following investment opportunities abroad, Cantekinler said. Investors from Turkey are particularly interested in “small, medium” investments worth between 50 and 150 million dollars in countries such as Greece and Romania, he said.

What the hell are you talking about? And let´s say that the U.S is selling piece by piece Greece. How can you talk about it like this? Without taking into consideration the seriousness of the situation? Come on, please

Greece is selling their land not the U.S., Greece needs to pay off their deficite and if this is the way to do it then be it. If Greece wants to sell their land it is their affairs not the U.S. or anybody else´s affairs. Remember the fate of Greece can reflect what can happen to the U.S. if they do not solve their own money problems.

You need to check your facts mate, its not US created mess in Greece, its EU [european union]. If you want to blame someone, blame European Union and your corrupted politicians that brought the country into shameful situation. By the way , we all are fully aware of seriousness of the situation and we are NOT happy with whats happening to our neighbour. But your politicians and corrupted millionaries werent aware of the obvious results of "the easy comes easy goes " .

To begin with, I´m not defending anyone. These pigs in the parliament would be among the first to be burnt in a big fire! As for the E.U, you´d be naive to believe that it has any power. The whole thing works in a more organized way.
