Famous Turkish artist Sezen Aksu’s latest album “Öptüm” (Kisses) will be put on sale in Britain from Sept. 5, Anatolia news agency reported.
The album was promoted Thursday at a press conference in London. Officials said the album would be the first one by a Turkish artist to be sold in Britain.
Music promotion company Kazum’s Director Sebastian Merrick highlighted the significance of Aksu in Turkish music, adding, “She has so far released 24 albums. This is the same with Beatles albums.”
Music company Harmonia Mundi’s owner Patrick Lemanski defined Aksu as a “legend.”
Also, after a four year absence, Aksu will take to the stage at London’s prestigious Royal Albert Hall with her new band, led by Grammy nominated musician Fahir Atakoğlu. She will perform her best-loved songs in a new hit show that’s touring internationally.
The event will be organized by Como No and Kazum, two of the U.K.’s leading world music promoters. Tickets are available from the venue’s box office and leading event ticket outlets. They can be bought online, by telephone or in person from the venue. Full concert details and seating availability can be found on www.royalalberthall.com.
