I often see "da" used in sentences and I´m not sure of the meaning.

For example, "da" at the end of a sentence

I´ve seen it used as " Yeni ogreniyorum da" as in "It´s because I´m newly learning it."

So i take it as "because". But then I see it in other sentences and it doesn´t make sense to translate it as "because" when it´s at the end.

For example "Yani onu hatırlıyorum da."  I can´t make out what it means.  Is it just for emphasis?

Or, Ben de (although I´ve seen it writen as Bende) and the "de" doesn´t seem to translate to "too" or "also" all the time.

So in short...

Yes it means too or as well.

But at the end of sentence it gives the meaning "such/so that blah blah" or "and/but blah blah". It is similar to ki used at the end of a sentence.

Bilmem ki ... (... is not said and is expected to be understood in some way by the addressee) = I don´t know (what to do for example)

Bilmem de ... (the same) = I don´t know (but maybe you may know something or but maybe someone here knows, etc)

Yeni öğreniyorum da ... = I am still learning it (so I should be excused if I do something wrong for example).

So addressee is expected to understand something (with the help of the context as well) here.

Don´t worry, redg18, until yesterday I was trying to figure out what is the difference between de and da. They say Ağır kazan geç kaynar and that´s what I keep telling myself as an excuse...

si++ : thanks for the explanations. I could never find any sort of explanation for this and I guess it´s (partly) because it´s meaning is often based on context. I also had no idea that "da" could be interchangeable with "ki" sometimes. I am going to refer to your explanations often until it sticks
