The inferential -miş borrows its personal endings from the verb ´to be´ as well.

We can say the same things for -miş as well. But I am not sure if it was used with "to be" in old times. I don´t have a "Grammar of old Turkish" book around. I can tell that aorist tense suffix was not used that way in old Turkish.

What I´m saying is you can treat aorist tense (-er) + future tense (-ecek) + inferential tense (-miş as if "to be" sentences. (you can see the same thing in a different way)

Here is what I had heard about Aorist tense from another Türk (native) tutor. I hope this does not "ruffle any feathers"{#emotions_dlg.shy}

is it also true that for a verb is one syllable, and ends with l, n, or r, you would use -ir, -ır, -ur, -ür?

example; geler ;incorrect,  gelir ;correct

-verir

However, other 1 syllable verbs use -er/-ar examples; giter, Koşar

Also, that if a verb is multiple syllables, you would also use -ir.

example; kapatır, konuşur
