Hi,

I just started learning Turkish from this website classes and some other ones but I was wondering what is the best way to learn it...from this classes or i should search for a kids book for learning Turkish.I can read almost anything you gave me in Turkish(because I´m from Romania and we have lots of common word that are spelt the same and we have common letters too) but the Turkish grammar is kinda complicated.

Pls if anyone can help would be great.

Thank you in advance!

In my opinion, you should start with the basic grammar. Without knowledge of the suffixes you won´t be able even to use a dictionary. A nice way to do it is to go through the Classes in this site. Another small and sympathetic site is TotallyTurkish which in addition answers to your basic needs of expressing yourself, like greetings, numbers etc. As your hunger grows (as it certainly will) you can search pages like turkishlanguage.co.uk. One thing leads to another.

Good luck for your studies. See you in the site, geaninaiosub.

Agree with Abla about the basics of grammar, and vowel harmony first. You could also study children´s books in Turkish if you wanted. But its probably not neccessary because as you are much older than that, you can understand concepts about the grammar and sentence structure which a young child may not have learned yet. Smile
