My attempt

May it be found in your mind my dear, you did not fool/deceive me, I don´t believe I chose you

But don´t you think, Henry, that in

         ben inanmayı seçtim

the previous (inanmayı) modifies what comes later (seçtim) as usual and the predicate is in it neutral place in the end of the sentence? That makes ´I chose´. seçmek takes accusative object and that´s why the infinitive inanma- is decorated with the ending -ı. This altogether makes

         ´I chose to believe/trust´.

ben inanmayı seçtim  ----> I chose to believe

Thanks Tunci and Abla for explaining my error. I should have concentrated a bit harder before posting. I always have problems mixing up verbal nouns and negative verb clauses.
