I understand the meaning as "it was never important my dear"

önemli değil = it is not important, it doesn´t matter

Turks often say ´rica ederim´, (you are welcome, my pleasure), but some dictionaries also have ´önemli değil´ as a ´thank you´ in response to ´teşekkürler´
