 "çekmek" is one of those awful elastic words that takes a so many different meanings according to the context. Tunci should do us a full list! Maybe he has ???

Turk´s "pull" all sort of things:

acı çekmek - "pull pain" = to feel pain

ağırlık çekmek - "pull weight" = to support a weight

para çekmek - "pull money" = to withdraw money from the bank

ipi çekmek - "pull rope" = to stretch a rope tight

fotoğraf çekmek - "pull photo" = take a photo
