Merhaba arkadaslar,

(Sorry, I have not been able to figure out how to insert Turkish characters.)

My question relates to the exercise "Vowel Harmony in Simple Past Tense" from Section 3 of Beginner 3 classes, specifically the following three examples:

3. Ali futbol oynadi ama Ayse oynamadi.

4. Ayse sut icti ama Ali icmedi.

7. Ayse odev yapti ama Ali yapmadi.

Are "futbol", "sut", and "odev" not accusative objects and therefore should have the -i suffix?

Onceden tesekkur ederim,

deniz bakire

Merhaba, deniz bakire!

In Turkish, only definite objects are marked with accusative and indefinite (like futbol, süt and ödev in your examples) are left unmarked. Ayşe ödevi yaptı would mean ´Ayşe did the homework which she was ordered/supposed to do´.

Cok tesekkurler, Abla.

Simdi besbelli! I don´t know how I missed that distinction so far.
