I agree with the Turks who have commented above. All the Turkish people I know are fantastic people. They are friendly, helpful and generous. By saying your boyfriend is not like other Turkish people suggests he is not friendly, he is unhelpful, etc. It may also insult his family. Be careful how you praise him.

I know you do not mean to insult other Turks. But what if he said "You´re not like the other Scottish people". It is safer to say "you are unique/special".

Hopefully you are not offended, but I have also corrected your English, because I know many Turks on this site also learn English.

I see many native English speakers using "your" where they should use "you´re". But sometimes I also do write it in the wrong way without noticing even if I am well aware which one is correct.
