"kasmak" is a slang word. It means to try hard, to work hard, to force yourself above your limits. "kastırtmak" means make someone try hard, work hard,etc..

calling someone a ´write off´ sounds pretty negative to me!

Gokuyum - should ´o pert oldu´ be o dert oldu´ - was it a typing mistake?

pert olmak is slang it means to become a write off. But dert olmak means to become a trouble.

of course calling someone a write off is a negative thing but I wanted to say we do not call her so because of her personality.

Thanks very much for the translation; I understand everything now. Yes, for example "pert oldum" means is when something bad happens, though it is slang. Thanks for the help.
