That is today´s news of the day (if not of the year) in Poland:
Plane crash-lands at Warsaw´s international airport, no one injured
231 people on board aircraft which flew from Newark airport

WARSAW, Poland — A Boeing airliner carrying 231 people from the U.S. landed on its belly Tuesday in Warsaw after its landing gear failed to open, triggering sparks and small fires. No one was hurt, but some passengers sobbed as they prayed for a safe landing.
Capt. Tadeusz Wrona, who handled the descent so smoothly that many on board thought the plane landed on its wheels, was instantly hailed a hero in Poland and online, where within hours he was the focus of several Facebook fanpages.

Note: The pilot (captain Tadeusz Wrona, age 53) is not only a civilian airplane pilot, but he is also skilled glider pilot - he started his gliding training when he was 16, and turned out to be very talented in it. This is said to be main reason why he was able to land under such difficult conditions.
