Turkey´s unemployment down to 8.8 percent in September

Turkey´s unemployment rate continued to fall, with the country´s unemployment registering at 8.8 percent in September 2011, according to data released by the Turkish Statistics Institute (TurkStat) on Thursday.
TurkStat announced that the unemployment rate was 8.8 percent in September, representing a drop of 2.5 percent from the same month of last year.

 

According to TurkStat´s data, the number of unemployed in the country now stands at 2.39 million, while the number of those employed is at 24.74 million
