"The Prime Minister said veterans of war should be our first priority." (Can you use the -meli- form when the governing verb wants accusative?)

"I don´t want to pay for something that should be free." (Can you use the -meli- form as an attribute like any adjective?)

"The Prime Minister said veterans of war should be our first priority."

Başbakan savaş gazilerinin birinci öncelik olması gerektiğini söyledi.

"I don´t want to pay for something that should be free."

Ben, ücretsiz olması gereken bir şey için ödeme yapmak istemiyorum.

Of course tunci can explain more, but both sentences seem about obligation (must) not -meli (can). Maybe im wrong.

harp00n, that´s what I was expecting and I think you are right. This -meli-necessitative is a bloody stubborn verb form, not flexible at all. Let´s see if someone has an objection. You´ve been of good help, teşekkürler.
