Yoksun Sen Yoksun Ya Akşamlarda

Nereden takılmışsa bir şarkı dudaklarımda
Havada deniz kokusu

a song is in my lips from somewhere

sea air on the air

seas are between us, your absence has stolen my years.

if i cry nets will be wet

you are in seas, i am in your longing

your absence is blowing in the evenings

You are in goblet, i am desperate

you are absent, you are away in the evenings.....

I love anything to do with both sunsets and the sea, this is a very lovely song. Its a little like my life in how an ocean is between me and someone I love very much.

I translated it a little different

where a song is struck on my lips

the secent of the sea in the air

the sea´s between us has stolen many years with your absence

if i cry  it cries and gets wet

you are in glasses and I am incurable/desparate

you deprive to be deprived in the nights

my torment (fever, agitation ) tires me of the waters tonight

my heart twists and struggles

next line is difficult for me

Gemiler geçer uzak bir beyaz hüzün soluklanır

ships - desireable– distant/far-off – the – white – sadness -to take a breathe

white sadness to breathe the desire of far-off ships

the night stuggles and twists

are you ever going to come to be more in front of me

always I like having your picture with me

I am hoping for corrections here also

thank you for your help - I guess with 8 lines wrong it is time for me to pack it in and not bother trying to learn this language anymore.

Mavili, I come from where the sea freezes (you can walk on it). Maybe that’s why we feel natural elements are connecting people more than separating them. It’s the same sea in both sides, you know.

There is an extremely popular Finnish song about love and longing for someone who is far away. The girl in the song goes to sleep in the balcony so that she can see the sky and be closer to her loved one. She repeats the following verse:

Oh wind, blow where my baby is, play in his hair for a moment.

Ok, it’s quite worn out metaphors, not my favourite. But one day I saw the comments in Youtube. Someone had corrected the lines:

Oh wind, blow where my baby is, play in his moustache for a moment.

Something just burst inside of me. Maybe I have too visual thinking but I can’t listen to that song any more without seeing the moustache thing in my eyes. And I laugh any time, any place.

Does your BF by any chance have a moustache, Mavili?
